Difference between Capacitor and condenser:

Capacitor is one of the fundamental passive components. It is used to store electrical energy in terms of electrostatic field. There are two types of capacitors are normally classified. One is polarized capacitor and another one is Non polarized capacitor. Polarized capacitors are used in DC circuits, and there are manufactured to operate in correct polarity typically it comes positive and negative. The capacitor terminal should be connected exactly with the source terminal which means positive terminal should connect with the positive terminal of the source and negative terminal should connect with the negative terminal of the source. Interchanging these terminal causes failure or heavy flash over occurs in the capacitors and they are used in DC wave shaping circuits. In case, Non Polarized capacitor does not care about the terminal connections and they are used in AC applications such as reactive power management, supply phase converter.
Electrically Condenser is an old name of capacitor. But In mechanical terms, condenser are the heat exchange system. Which is used to convert vapor into water in thermal power plants. In air conditioner it is used to reduce the temperature of the compressed gas. Condensers are used in industrial chemical processes such as distillation, steam power plants and other heat-exchange systems. Use of cooling water or surrounding air as the coolant is common in many condensers
