Mechanical Energy Formula:

The Mechanical Energy ME(J) in Joules is Equal to the Half into Multiply the Mass m(kg) in kilogram and Multiply the Velocity v(m/s) in meter per second is squared to Addition of the Mass m(kg) in kilogram and is Multiply the Acceleration of gravity g(9.81m/s2) in meter per second square and again Multiply the Height of the Object h(m) in meter.

The Formula of Mechanical Energy can be written as,

ME(J) = ½ * m(kg) * v2(m/s) + m(kg) * g(9.81m/s2) * h(m)

Here,

ME(J) = Mechanical Energy in Joules

m(kg) = Mass in kilogram

v(m/s) = Velocity in meter per second

Mechanical Energy Calculation:

1) Calculate the Mechanical Energy and given for the Mass = 5kg , Velocity = 4m/s , Height of the Object = 4m.

Answer

ME = ½ * m * v2 + m * g * h

ME = ½ * 5 * 42 + 5 * 9.81 * 4

ME = 236.2J.

2) Calculate the Height of the Object and given for the Mass = 5kg , Velocity = 4m/s , Mechanical Energy = 236.2J.

Answer

ME = ½ * m * v2 + m * g * h

236.2 = ½ * 5 * 42 + 5 * 9.81 * h

h = 4m.
