Pspcl has announced the latest tariff rate for the year of 2025 to 2026.

PSPCl is changed the tariff slaps into two such as below 300 units and above 300 units

Punjab electricity tariff rate for 2025-26

PUNJAB STATE ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION has six tariff categories for domestic LT supply. They are, up to 2kW connected load LT consumer, From 2 KW to 7kW connected consumers, more than 7kW and below 50kW connected load consumers, Above 50 kW/kVA & up to 100 kVA consumers, above 100kVA and Sri Harmandir Sahib & Sri Durgiana Mandir consumers.

Note: the Fixed Charge will be calculated during the billing cycle.

Electricity Per unit rate in Punjab Latest 2025-26:

PSPCL charges same rate for single phase and three phase.

Panjab electricity per unit cost for the first three categories is the same. I.e The consumers’ total connected load is less than 2000 Watts, they will come into the 2kW category. They should not have any electronics’ load such as Air conditioners, refrigerator, bore well etc.

They shall pay ₹ 5.4 for the first 0 to 300 units, and for above 300 units, they have to pay ₹ 7.75 per unit. The same tariff rate applicable to all domestic residential consumers.

Like that, if the consumer connected load between 2kW to 7kW means the consumer shall pay here 5.72 per unit for first 300 units, 7.75 for above 300 units.

Also, if the consumer connected load between 7kW to 20kW means the consumer shall pay here 6.44 per unit for first 300 units, 7.75 for above 300 units.

Only the fixed cost will be varied such as up to 2 kW consumer can pay ₹ 50/kW, for 2kW to 7kW consumer shall pay ₹ 75/kW, from 7kW to 50kW consumer shall pay ₹ 110/kW/- as so on.

For 20kW to 100kW load demand the fixed charges will be 130/kW unit and all the units will be charges ₹6.75 per unit.

Above 100kW load demand the fixed charges will be 140/kW unit and all the units will be charges ₹6.96 per unit.

PSPCL bill calculation:

Example:

A consumer’s connected load is 6kW and their energy consumption is 358 units. Calculate the electricity bill as per Punjab electricity tariff order 2025-26.

Look at the bill for first 300 units, the amount is ₹ 1620/- (300 x 5.4), next 58 units it is ₹ 449.5 /- (58 x 7.75) and additional cost of duty charges 35.8/- (358 x 0.1), fixed charges 450/- (2kW x 50) and electricity tax 286.689 (13% of (energy charges + fixed charges)

Hence, the consumer should pay 2491.99/- as electricity bill.
