Reaction Force Formula:

The reaction force calculator estimates the force exerted by a surface to support an object resting on it, considering the gravitational force and the angle of the surface relative to the horizontal.

Reaction force, F(N) in Newton is equated by the product of mass of the object, m(kg) in kilogram, acceleration due to gravity, g(m/s2) in metre per second squared and angle of the surface, x in degrees.

Reaction force, F(N) = m(kg) * g(m/s2) * cos(x)

F(N) = reaction force in Newton, N.

m(kg) = mass of the object in metres, m.

g(m/s2) = acceleration due to gravity in metre per second squared, m/s2. (9.81m/s2 on the surface of the Earth).

Reaction Force Calculation:

1. Find the reaction force of a 10 kg box resting on a flat surface (0 degrees inclined).

Given: m(kg) = 10kg, g(m/s2) = 9.81m/s2, x = 0degrees.

Reaction force, F(N) = m(kg) * g(m/s2) * cos(x)

F(N) = 10 * 9.81 * cos(0)

F(N) = 10 * 9.81 * 1

F(N) =98.1N.

1. Calculate the mass of an object if the reaction force is 98.1N on a surface inclined at 30degrees to the horizontal. Assume g = 9.81m/s2.

Given: F(N) =98.1N., g(m/s2) = 9.81m/s2, x = 30degrees.
