Nozzle Velocity Calculator, Formula, Nozzle Velocity Calculation

Nozzle Velocity Calculator:

Enter the values of Mass flow rate of the nozzle mdot(kg/s), Density of the Fluid p(kg/m3) & Cross-sectional Area of the Nozzle A(m2) to determine the value of Nozzle Velocity V(m/s) .

Enter Mass Flow Rate of the Nozzle: kg/s
Enter Density of the Fluid: kg/m3
Enter Cross-Sectional Area of the Nozzle: m2

Result – Nozzle Velocity: m/s

Nozzle Velocity Formula:

The Nozzle Velocity V(m/s) in meter per second is equal to the Mass flow rate of the nozzle mdot(kg/s) in kilogram per second is divided by the Density of the Fluid p(kg/m3) in kilogram per metre cube to multiply the Cross-sectional Area of the Nozzle A(m2) in meter square.

The Formula of Nozzle Velocity can be writtern as,

V(m/s) = mdot(kg/s) / ( p(kg/m3) * A(m2) )

Here,

V(m/s) = Nozzle Velocity in meter per second

mdot(kg/s) = Mass flow rate of the nozzle in kilogram per second

p(kg/m3) = Density of the Fluid in kilogram per metre cube

Example Problems for Nozzle Velocity:

1)Determine the Nozzle Velocity and given for Mass flow rate = 45kg/s , Density of the Fluid = 400kg/m3 , Cross-sectional Area = .20m2.

Solution

V = mdot / ( p * A )

V = 45 / ( 400 * .20 )

V = 0.11m/s.

2)Determine the Density of the Fluid and given for Mass flow rate = 45kg/s , Cross-sectional Area = .20m2 , Nozzle Velocity = 0.11m/s.

Solution

V = mdot / ( p * A )

0.11 = 45 / ( p * .20 )

p = 400kg/m3.
