Launch Velocity Formula:

The Launch Velocity V(m/s) in meter per second is equal to the Change in x-direction X(m) in meter to multiply the SQRT of the Gravity g(m/s2) in meter per second square is divided by the value of 2 into multiply the Maximum height of the project H(m) in meter.

The Equation of Launch Velocity can be writtern as,

V(m/s) = X(m) * SQRT ( g(m/s2) / 2 * H(m) )

Here,

V(m/s) = Launch Velocity in meter per second

X(m) = Change in x-direction in meter

g(m/s2) = Gravity in meter per second square

H(m) = Maximum height of the project in meter

Calculation for Launch Velocity:

1)Determine the Launch Velocity and given for Change in x-direction = 150m , Gravity = 9.81m/s2 , Maximum height = 20m.

Answer

V = X * SQRT ( g / 2 * H )

V = 150 * SQRT ( 9.81 / 2 * 20 )

V = 74.284m/s.

2)Determine the Maximum height and given for Change in x-direction = 150m , Gravity = 9.81m/s2 , Launch Velocity = 74.284m/s.

Answer

V = X * SQRT ( g / 2 * H )

74.284 = 150 * SQRT ( 9.81 / 2 * H )

H = 20m.
