### kVAR to Amps Calculation Formula

The flow of current I_{(A)} Amps is equal to the 1000 times of reactive power in kilo Volt amp reactive Q_{(kVAR)} divided by the voltage V_{(V)} in volts. Let write the formula for kVAR to Amps conversion formula as below,

**For single-phase,**

I_{(A)} = 1000 x Q_{(kVAR)} / V_{(V)}

**For three-phase,**

While considering the phase voltage,

I_{(A)} = 1000 x Q_{(kVAR)} / 3 x V_{(V)}

While considering the Line voltage,

I_{(A)} = 1000 x Q_{(kVAR)} / (1.732 x V_{(V)})

__Example 1:__

Let we calculate the flow of current in Amps for 1kVAR capacitor bank connected in single-phase power supply at 230 volts, 0.9pf.

Let apply our formula

Current in Amps I_{(A)} = 1000 x 1 / (230)

Current = 1000 / (230)

= 4.3 Amps reactive

Hence 1 kVAR capacitor bank shall give you 4.3 A at 230 Volts.

__Example 2:__

Let we calculate the reactive current for 25kVAR capacitance bank which is connected to three-phase at the line voltage of 415 volts.

Apply our three-phase reactive current formula,

Current in Amps I_{(A)} = 1000 x 25 / (1.732 x 415)

= 34.78 Amps
