Vout(v) = Vs(v) * R2(oh) / (R1(oh) +R2(oh))

Vs = is the source voltage measured in volts in v

R1 = is the resistance of the 1st resistor, measured in ohms

R2 = is the resistance of the 2nd  resistor, measure in ohms

Vout = is the output voltage measured in volts

Example:1

Calculate the sources voltage 25v and the resistance 1st resistor 45 Ω, and the resustance 2nd resistor 24 Ω.Find the output voltage ?

Answer:

Sources voltage =25v

Resistance 1st resistant =45 Ω

Resistance 2nd resistant =24 Ω

By using formula

Vout(v) = Vs(v) * R2(oh) / (R1(oh) +R2(oh))

Vout = 25 *24 / (45+24)

Vout =600 /69

Vout =8.6956 v

Example:2

Calculate the sources voltage 18v and the resistance 1st resistor 78Ω, and the resustance 2nd resistor 96 Ω.Find the output voltage ?

Answer:

Sources voltage = 18v

Resistance 1st resistant = 78Ω

Resistance 2nd resistant = 96Ω

By using formula

Vout(v) = Vs(v) * R2(oh) / (R1(oh) +R2(oh))

Vout = 18 *96 / (78+96)

Vout =1728 /174
