Parallel Capacitor Calculator, Formula, Calculation of Capacitance

Parallel Capacitor Calculator:

This parallel capacitor calculator allows you to estimate the resulting capacitance in a circuit. You can simulate a system of 10 separate capacitors in parallel. Go to more sections to know how to add parallel capacitors, formula for total capacitance and steps to find capacitance in a circuit.

A capacitor is an electronic device that stores electrical charges. Capacitors can be arranged both in series and in parallel. If the capacitors are arranged in parallel with the voltage source, the voltage across each element will be the same and equal to the source capacitor.

Parallel Capacitor Formula:

Parallel capacitor formula is voltage V(v) in volts and multiply the capacitor c(f)  in farad is equal to the voltage V(v) in volts and multiply the capacitance c1(f)  and addition the voltage V(v) in volts and multiply the capacitor C2(f) in farad.Hence the parallel capacitor formula can be written as

V(v)*c(f) =V(v)*c1(f) + V(v) * C2(f) +….

V1 = v2 = ……=V

The formula for charge stored in a capacitor is

Q= v*c

The overall charge of capacitors Q=Q1 +Q2+…..

V*c =V*c1+ V * C2+….

The total capacitance of capacitors connected in parallel is

C=c1+c2+…..

Example:1

IF capacitors are connected in parallel and their capacitance is 8F,12F,18F,12F,16F.Find the resulting capacitance?

Given that

c1 =8F

c2 = 12F

c3 =18F

C4 =12F

C5 =16F

C= c1+ c2+ c3+ c4+ c5

C=18+12+18+12+16

C=66F

Example:2

IF capacitors are connected in parallel and their capacitance is 25F,32F,45F,22F,15F.Find the resulting capacitance?

Given that

c1 =25F

c2 = 32F

c3 =45F

C4 =22F

C5 =15F

C= c1+ c2+ c3+ c4+ c5

C=25+32+45+22+15

C=139F
